Retinoxyl Elixer – The First Stable Retinaldehyde

The ancient Egyptians recognized the importance of Vitamin A, but it was not discovered and synthesized until 1947. A Natural Difference has always stressed the importance of Retinols. Over 20 years ago we formulated our Erase-A-Line, a special complex which is still very popular today. Then years later we formulated a new form of Retinol which binds to the receptors called Chiral. Retinols are important in skincare and for the whole body. They come in different forms and occur naturally as Beta-Carotene.

Aging skin tends to be reversed by topical application of Vitamin A. The skin is activated to produce more epidermal protein and form a thicker skin and maintain the skin in a more youthful condition.

The long term use of Vitamin A can have additional benefits which are significant to aging skin being treated with Glycolic. The 28 day of cycle of skin turnover can be increased to a speed of up to 14 days. This speeds up the overall resurfacing process without resulting in the typical appearance of thin skin.

Long term use of Vitamin A results in proliferation of new blood vessels and capillaries. This increases the overall health and vitality of the skin. Specific to aging skin, there is new regenerative ability to fight infection and significant improved capacity to clear the skin of irritants and toxins quickly.

Retinoids are derived from Beta-Carotene and labeled as Vitamin  A. Included in this class of Vitamin A’s are:

  • Retinol
  • Retinaldehyde
  • Retinyl Ester
  • Retinyl Palmitate

The most prevalent is Retinolic Acid which in it’s synthetic form are the  prescriptions; Retin A Renova

Retinoids need to be applied topically in order to perform its essential purpose. The sun depletes the skin of Vitamin A and this is why skin which has been exposed to too much sun ages much faster. Vitamin A is the single most important ingredient to prevent, restore, normalize and help repair the skin. This is not NEWS to AND Skincare Specialists whom have continually educated on the subject. They have been using it in their back bar and all their clients are using one of our Retinol products, either Erase A Line or Chiral A Discoloration. You have all been recommending usage 3 – 4 times a week with the motto start low and go slow. This allowed the skin to adjust and the client enjoyed the positive changes with no negative response.

Our current focus is the Retinal which is Retinaldehyde or Trans Retinal Retinaldehyde is just one step away from Retinolc Acid yet it is
considerably more gentle. It is the perfect balance between high
level results and extremely low irritation.

Science Behind It
The metabolic pathways that have been identified involving in the Retinoid metabolism’s role in the digestive system have been confirmed in large part to also exist in the skin. There is sufficient evidence to support that some of the fundamental metabloic process that occur in such tissues as the liver and other cell types exits in epidermal keratinocytes, melancytes and fibroblasts. Specifically basal heratinocytes are supplied with Vitamin A from the bloodstream. The precise mechanism is not complete understood.
While much of free Retinol is esterfied via Lecithin and then store as Retinol Palmitate, a small percentage is further oxidized to the active acid form. The oxidation of free Retinol and Retinolic Acid is the limiting step in the generation of active retinold metabolites within the cells. Retinol gains entry into the cells through receptors. Once inside the cell, Retinol may be converted to Retinyl Palmitate or subsequently oxidized to Retinolic Acid. The metabolic process also applies to a prompt delivery.
